Secure V2V and V2I Communication in Intelligent Transportation Using Cloudlets

Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) is a vision which offers safe, secure and smart travel experience to drivers. This futuristic plan aims enable vehicles, roadside transportation infrastructures, pedestrian smart-phones other devices communicate with one another provide safety convenience services. Vehicle (V2V) Infrastructure (V2I) communication in ITS ability exchange speed, heading angle, position environment related conditions amongst vehicles surrounding infrastructures. In this intelligent setup, users data random untrusted entities (like traffic lights or pedestrians) whom they don't know have met before. The concerns of location privacy further deter the adoption smarter safe transportation. paper, we present trusted V2V V2I approach using edge infrastructures where instead direct peer communication, introduce cloudlets authorize, check verify authenticity, integrity ensure anonymity messages exchanged system. Moving road side infrastructure are dynamically connected nearby cloudlets, security policies can be implemented sanitize stop fake prevent rogue vehicles. We also formal attribute-based model for called AB-ITS, along proof concept implementation proposed solution AWS IoT platform. cloudlet supported architecture complements serves important use cases such as accident ice-threat warning applications. Performance metrics our discussed compared existing technologies.
